Share Documents Easily
Users can easily create shared workspaces. The creator of the
workspace can define the actions that other users can take on
the documents and folders in the workspace. Documents can also
be shared with customers and partners outside of your organization
by sending QuickLinks rather than bulky email attachments.
Keep Important Files Secure
GroupDrive supports encrypted sessions using industry proven SSL
(Secure Sockets Layer), to secure your critical business documents.
GroupDrive also has support for third-party client certificates,
ensuring
that your users are being authenticated prior to access
being granted
to the GroupDrive server.
Automate Backup and Synchronization Tasks
GroupDrive offers an easy-to-use tool for automating backups and synchronizing
folders between the PC and the GroupDrive servers. Backups can be scheduled
to execute daily, weekly or monthly and
can run as full or incremental backups.
Users can also do a “hot backup” by simply saving important files to their backup
folder as
soon as they have been updated
Reduce Training and Support Costs
Because GroupDrive is so easy to use, the cost of training is greatly reduced.
Your users can access, edit and share documents through
a mapped drive
letter – the same way that they access files on
their own PCs. Users also have
the option of using an intuitive
browser interface, allowing them secure access
to documents
from any computer.
Block Level Access
A unique feature of the GroupDrive Server is the ability to perform
block level
locking and access. This enables multiple users to edit different parts of the same
file simultaneously! This is done by
locking just one block of a file at a time, enabling
complete access
to other blocks of the file. In addition, this block level access enables
users to download just a section of a large file, rather than the entire file.
A common use of this feature is in editing database tables. Database files may be
quite large. A user can download just the first block of a table, and the specific block
in which a particular record is located. The record is updated onto the GroupDrive
Server without
the download of the entire database table.
